In August we celebrated the 15th birthday of Boomtown Music Festival, a huge milestone for a festival, as well as for Clockwise.Film – 15 years of working together! It was another incredible weekend with new stages, 100s of immersive actors and massive headliners including Cypress Hill, Chase & Status & Loyle Carner. An excellent lineup for our talented film crew, delivering bespoke video editing and post-production services for the festival’s content marketing. The trailer Callum at Trago Studio was the director for the 27-person crew on-site (celebrating ten years of this role). Our in-house producer Sophie Jones was in charge of making things happen. We also brought along the always dependable Mighty Sky to provide drone videography and Flipside Productions to record the audio on the Grand Central and Engine House stages. The requirements this year were bigger than ever with on-site editing, motion graphics, after-movie showreel, teaser and headliner multi-camera recordings; all with different delivery specs across the content production package. We had operators filming in 4K 16:9, others in 9:16 and of course, high frame rates for those epic moments. Serious data management was required for the ease of the editors. 16 TB of data was captured to produce the festival advertising and live event video coverage. the after movie Having worked with Boomtown over the last decade and a half, we understand the sheer amount of creativity and work that goes into the show. It is integral that we capture the finer details alongside the mind-blowing stage designs and big acts. We needed to consider the brand messaging that Boomtown send out to their target audience. In order to achieve this, we work closely with their marketing team leading up to the event. Every camera operator has a detailed shot list from our producer, which includes the storyline, music, and performers. Almost everywhere you point the camera there is something interesting to film; making for an engaging story utilised in Boomtowns’s social media content strategy. Working with Clockwise has been such a joy over the past year, they have a deep understanding of our event, because of their commitment and ability I knew I could trust them to produce exciting, engaging content that captures the essence of Boomtown. They are a great team to collaborate with from pre-production all the way through to the final product.
