At Clockwise Film, we’re always looking for new ways to tell powerful stories. Our latest project took us somewhere completely new, both technically and creatively, as we used hidden cameras to capture an event in a way we’ve never done before.

Authentic Storytelling

Using hidden camera techniques, we were able to capture genuine, unfiltered moments—something that felt especially important given the subject matter. The film highlights the everyday bias experienced by people living with diabetes, something that’s often subtle but deeply felt.

By filming the event in this way, we revealed interactions as they truly happened, without scripts, without performances, just real people and real moments. It’s a technique we’ve admired in broadcast TV, but this was the first time we brought it into our own work.

Broadcast Quality with Social Purpose

What made this project particularly exciting was the way it brought together two different worlds: broadcast storytelling and social-first content. It’s not a combination you see very often, but it works.

We were able to give the piece a polished, cinematic feel while still making sure it was engaging and shareable for online audiences. The result is a film that feels both expansive and immediate, serious in its message but designed to spark conversation on social platforms.

Why This One Mattered

Diabetes is one of those conditions people think they understand, but many don’t realise the stigma that comes with it. We were proud to be involved in something that aims to change that, and to use our skills as filmmakers to help push the conversation forward.

There’s something incredibly powerful about being able to show, not just tell, what bias looks like. We hope the film helps audiences see this issue in a new light.

Looking Ahead

Thanks to Bearded Kitten for being such awesome partners in pulling off this important event. For us, this was more than just another shoot. It opened up new possibilities in how we approach event coverage and storytelling, especially when the story calls for authenticity and emotional truth.

We’re excited to explore this territory further. If you’re working on something that could benefit from a fresh take, whether it’s a filmed event, a campaign video, or a story you want to tell in a different way, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch.
