The most talented street footballers from across the world came to London in 2017 to compete in the finals of the Adidas Tango League. Clockwise partnered with COPA90 to produce a series of highly shareable short films documenting the tournament.

COPA90, the football-focused multimedia platform, wanted a series of short films based around the Adidas Tango League to promote the launch of the Nemeziz football boot. The series needed to be produced on a quick turnaround – with just one week between the project briefing and the tournament final. COPA90 approached Clockwise due to our documentary expertise and ability to deliver results on a tight deadline.
Our solution was a documentary-led content package telling the inspiring stories of the world’s leading street footballers. Production began with a survey of all 25 players to identify the strongest characters, followed by a short but thorough pre-production stage and the subsequent main event coverage. Protagonist backstories were shot retrospectively by a small agile production team.
COPA90 has revolutionised football coverage with its social media content produced from the fans’ perspective. Clockwise understood this ethos and was able to bridge the gap between branded content, documentary, and event coverage to produce a package of authentic grassroots football content which appealed to COPA90’s passionate and engaged audience. The films were delivered to coincide with the launch of the Adidas Nemeziz – which quickly became one of the top 10 bestselling football boots of all time.
