"On each project, the team have gone above and beyond the brief to uncover new and surprising perspectives that have translated to compelling and insightful film. They have been great to work with; responsive to feedback and timely in production delivery - and ultimately as dedicated to producing an outstanding project as the Eventbrite team ourselves." - Katie McPhee - Head of Marketing - Eventbrite

Brief

Eventbrite is a leading player in the global ticketing industry. Clockwise was asked to develop a film concept that would further establish the platform with a music-centric audience while maintaining its relevance to the wider events industry. Working with Childhood PR, we proposed the platform’s largest editorial project to date – a documentary series which would harness the opinions of influencers, journalists and industry thought leaders to further discussions about the challenges and opportunities in nightlife’s future.

Production

Clockwise produced a series of documentary films on a challenging budget – requiring highly efficient use of resources. Pre-production involved extensive discussions with journalists, researchers and opinion leaders. Shoots then took place with a large number of contributors in locations across the UK. Clockwise added value by capturing high quality portrait photographs of contributors for use in promotional material.

The films were shot by small documentary teams adopting an agile approach and Clockwise utilised our extensive stock footage library, compiled from more than a decade of events coverage and countless shoots at clubs and festivals across the country. Our fast-paced post-production process allowed each film to be turned around quickly in time to be launched at a series of pre-planned panel discussions in major UK cities.

Results

A New Dawn attracted a significant amount of media attention from publications including Time Out, the Guardian and the BBC. Eventbrite decided to capitalise on this success and commissioned Generation DIY to explore the next stage of the story and explore how a new wave of nightlife promoters is using the scene as a platform to fight for social justice – sparking debate about a series of important issues ranging from sexual equality to LGBTQI+ rights.
