The latest instalment in the Boomtown Fair saga sees the unexpected return of Nicholas Boom.

Boomtown Fair has become one of the UK’s best-loved festivals in large part due to the alternative reality that is painstakingly constructed by the festival team.

Visitors are transported to the fictional city of Boom where a tale of corporate malfeasance and attempted revolution has been playing out over the festival’s 10-year history.

Last year saw the rise of an underground hacker cell intent on bringing down the shady Bang Hai Industries corporation. This year the hackers are kicked out of the system before the viewer is taken to the city streets, where the fair’s founder Nicholas Boom makes his return…

It’s a unique approach and Clockwise has been lucky enough to play a part in telling the story. We’ve produced a series of theatrical films over the years which have complimented the festival’s usual programme of aftermovies and performance highlights.

The Boomtown team throws everything into its productions. That allows us to do something really special, using movie-style sets and characters to spread some of the festival magic beyond the city walls.

Telling a story that has twisted and turned as its unfolded over several years has been challenging but incredibly rewarding. We’re in near constant communication with the Boomtown team throughout the year so we can do our best to bring their ideas to life.

The 10th anniversary looks set to be unforgettable and we can’t wait to capture everything that goes down over the festival weekend. Congratulations if you bagged yourself a ticket: it’s going to be an incredible show.
